A question about running a computer game

I have an older game - Fur Fighters by acclaim - that wants to see the CD in the drive to run.
It runs fine with the CD (or a copy) in the drive.

I'd like to run it on my mini laptop (Asus Eee PC 1000H, Windows XP, no CD drive).

There was a "no disk" patch for the program published once, but I have never gotten it to work for me. It still asks for the physical disk.
(The problem may be as simple as the program looking for the CD drive only with a specific letter rather than finding it)

What I'd like to know is how to set up a virtual CD drive on an SD memory card (or a thumb drive) and a virtual copy of the CD that the game will accept.

As this is a "first time" for me doing this, I'd need a walkthrough and links to programs or steps rather than just an overview.

Rip the CD as an ISO with something like Infrarecorder:

Then uh..crap, gmount doesn't do XP. *kicks Google around*

I don't know how well that stuff would word on an SD card-type thing, but I assume it's possible. Someone who's done it that way/on XP can probably help better (though the last link looks most promising).

Ill ask Tak about it. He bought me a mini laptop too, an acer aspire. Ive not put anything on it from a disc yet but he may know how.
The beastie has a 160 gig hard drive, so it could run of an image on that if need be.

I had just figured that an external memory device might be "easier" as it will show up as a separate drive.
tak has an external one for his toshiba m200 since it also doesn't have a drive in it. My Acer has a 160 gig Hd too. I LOVE it!! It shocked Tak that it was powerful enough to even run WoW.
Powerful enough for WoW?!!!? Interesting ...

I do have a USB DVD drive to load stuff, but I don't really want to carry it to play a game.
My room mate downloaded the private server version of the game. Its kinda sucky compared to the retail version but it works til I can afford to play the retail. I just don't play any game enough for 15.00 a month.
He said you can send it over wireless on the network and you can mount it in the net book with
